19 Months - April 2006
April 25 - May 1, 2006
(1 year, 34 weeks)
Mommy got put on bed rest and spent the week in the hospital.
She is fine and I got to spend lots of time with Daddy and Grandpa. I
got to visit Mommy twice and one time I got to eat some strawberries!
No photo this week.
April 18 - April 24, 2006
(1 year, 33 weeks)
It was a busy holiday week with Passover and Easter.
Last week I was bilingual having spoken my first French word "rouge" but
this week I became trilingual when I said my first Hebrew words - "Ma
Nishtana" during the Passover Seder. On Sunday, the Hop came to visit
me and left me an Elmo-Hop basket filled with fun Sesame Street tub toys and
plastic eggs. I quickly realized that there were treats inside the
eggs and I figured out how to open them in no time. To my delight I
discovered chocolate inside and Godiva chocolate at that. Mmmmm...I
had no problems unwrapping and/or consuming the delightful morsel.
I can count to 3! Mommy was amazed that I could do
this. I was playing in the tub and Mommy for some reason or another
said "one" and then I surprised her by saying "two" so she asked "what comes
after two?" and I replied "three!" Then I laughed like the Count -
(ah, ah, ah). And no, I don't watch too much TV. Mommy sometimes
laughs like the Count after we count numbers too.
I have made a new association - Cheerios and ducks.
You see ducks really like Cheerios and I particularly enjoy feeding Cheerios
to the ducks. So logically (and I get this from Mommy) whenever there
are Cheerios there must be ducks for me to feed in the near future.
Case and point, on Friday (it was 80 degrees by the way) Mommy gave me some
Cheerios as a snack. I shouted "Ducks! Ducks!" and grabbed my shoes.
When Daddy came home a good 30 minutes later I was still eager to see the
ducks so we went looking for them at the usual spots but to our dismay we
only saw geese and a swan. However, the duck - Cheerio association
still remains strong.

"Mischievous?"
New Words/Sounds: "Yeah Baby," Ma
Nishtana, and lots of other two/three word combinations.
April 11 - April 17, 2006
(1 year, 32 weeks)
I took my first sips from a cup on my own today and I am
happy to report that I didn't spill a drop! I did however, wind up
with one heck of a milk mustache - both on my upper lip as well as my
forehead.
One of my favorite artists, since I was really little, has
been Toulouse-Lautrec. I especially enjoy the Moulin Rouge print that
is hanging in our family room. This week I pointed at it and simply
said "Rouge." I wonder if this makes me bilingual?
I got to feel the baby kick this week. I figured I
would communicate with the baby by blowing raspberries on Mommy's belly.
Mommy said that the baby can hear now so I hope he heard them.
I did my first forward roll at gymnastics last week and
then later that night I came really close to doing one by myself on the bed.
Mommy and Daddy were surprised. I haven't tried it again but I do like
going upside down and looking through my legs.
Happy Passover and Easter!
New Words/Sounds: Tweeting like a
bird and our
biggest sentence yet..."I know you're hungry."
My First Drawing of Real Items:
Mommy asked me to draw the Noo Noo
, a rabbit (hop), and Elmo.
This is what I drew.
April 4 - April 10, 2006
(1 year, 31 weeks)
I survived yet another wellness visit - this time with a
little assistance from Elmo. The nurse checked Elmo's height (13
inches) and then my height (32 1/2 inches), she measured our heads, and then
we got weighed. Elmo weight a mere 6 oz. compared to my 21.5 lbs.!
The only thing that Elmo didn't get that I got was a shot! Earlier
that day I got to go to the park with my friend Aidan. Afterwards, we
went to Potbellys and I had a mocha shake (my favorite - and no I didn't
share). So it was a pretty good day considering.
Mommy taught me to play Pat-a-Cake with her and I want to
play it all the time. We clap our hands together, roll the dough, toss
it in the air, clap some more, and end with a cheer.
I got to meet baby Can (pronounced John) this weekend.
He is so tiny and cute. He has a ton of hair. Even more than I
have right now! He lives in the city and I practiced saying "baby Can"
all the way down town. So now I've met two little babies that are only
a month old. I wonder what it will be like having my own baby brother?

"So what does it take to get some of your
milk shake?"
New Words/Sounds: "Do, Ra, Me, Fa,
So, La, Ti, Do"
and laughing like the Count on Sesame Street (ah, ah, ah)
