33 Months - June 2007

June 26 - July 2, 2007
(2 year, 43 weeks)

So I did something special today or at least that is what Mommy is saying.  You see I was drawing and doing stampers on the table on Tuesday and Mommy had to go upstairs to change baby Ian.  When she was coming back downstairs she asked me what I was drawing and I told her my name and when she got down stairs that is exactly what she saw.

They tore down our garage this week with a mini excavator.  Ian and I got to sit on it while it was parked in our front yard which was pretty cool.   We have a huge moat where the old garage used to be and we have big piles of dirt on the grass.  I like watching the guys work.  We even ate pizza with them the first day.  I wore my construction hat and supervised while they did the demolition.

We had two birthday parties this week one for my friend Daniel and another for baby Caroline who is the same age as Ian.  I really like frosting but ONLY when it is on the cake.  Once a piece is cut for me I no longer have interest in eating any part of it including my beloved frosting.  I don't understand why I can eat the frosting off of my friend's cakes.

I did this all by myself without looking at my name and
without any one in the room to help when I wrote it!

June 19 - June 25, 2007
(2 year, 42 weeks)

I started camp this week and so far I love it!  I really like my teachers especially Tasha.  She is just a girl but she helps out my real teachers.  She is so nice.  Some of my preschool friends are in my class.  A few of the new kids cry a lot when they are dropped off but not me.  I am happy to go to camp.  We do fun things.  I play on the playground and we run through sprinklers we even eat lunch at camp.  Mommy packed pesto pasta, grapes, and kitty cat cookies for my first day.  I love pesto pasta.

On Friday it was Ian's first birthday.  We took him to Potbellys for lunch after camp.  He had a turkey sandwich and a mocha shake like me.  He likes Potbellys too.  On Sunday, we had a big party for him at the house and I got to see a lot of my friends.  I helped Ian open his gifts and I am enjoying playing with them too.  I can't wait until my birthday!

June 12 - June 18, 2007
(2 year, 41 weeks)

I went to a Cubs game this week with Mommy, Daddy, Pa, and Ian.  We had really great seats.  I don't weigh enough to keep the seat down by myself so Mommy or Daddy had to help by putting their legs on the corner of my seat.  Pa bought me some cotton candy and I even ate a hot dog just like Daddy and Pa.  I really liked riding the train too.

Ian and I got our picture taken for Daddy's Day.  It was fun in the beginning but then Ian didn't want to cooperate and so we called it quits.  We got some nice photos for daddy's desk and gave them to him on father's day.  Wilson got Daddy some new underwear.  He always gets that for Daddy - so predictable.

We got to baby sit baby Lauren on Sunday night while her Mommy and Daddy went to hear music.  She is so cute and nice.

June 5 - June 11, 2007
(2 year, 40 weeks)

Anything you can do I can do better, or equally, or basically I just have to do it because Ian's doing it.  Let me explain.  No matter what Ian is doing these days I MUST do it too.  Like buckle in or use a sippy cup or eat his food or play with whatever he is playing with, etc.  Don't get me wrong I LOVE Ian but let's be honest this sharing Mommy thing and/or attention isn't too easy.

We have been doing a lot of fun things since I've been out of school.  We've been busy every single day going to parks, or the gardens, playing with friends, and even going to the farm.  I rode the train and the carousel at the farm.  I even climbed up on the horse all by myself.  This year Mommy let me go into the cage where the goats and sheep roam free.  I was brave enough to brush some goats and sheep!

You'll probably notice that I am not wearing bows as often these days.  I've decided that bows are for little girls and some days I go without.

May 29 - June 4, 2007
(2 year, 39 weeks)

I officially graduated from my first year of pre-school.  I can't believe that the year is over and that my time as a Balloon is through.  I made a lot of really good friends this year (so did Mommy) and I grew into such a big girl.  My teachers assembled a book with pictures of me from the beginning of the year until the end.  I look so young when I started school.

This weekend we went to Michigan to celebrate my cousin Lincoln's 2nd Birthday.  He is so nice and cute.  We played in the igloo and chased bubbles together.  We also went to the zoo.  I really liked the penguins especially the macaroni penguins which I pointed out to Mommy and Daddy.  "Look macaroni penguins!"

Yesterday I painted a picture for Pa and I called it The Lake.  I then painted a picture for Mommy.  She asked what I was painting and I told her I was doing a sumi-e.  "A sumi-e?" she asked and I said yes.   Daddy came home and asked me about my painting I told him it was a sumi-e.  Daddy asked "What is a sumi-e."  I told him that it was a Japanese style of painting.  This was something that Daddy did not know.  Daddy asked where I learned about sumi-e.  I replied from the Wonder Pets Save the Crane.  Amazing what one can pick up from a little TV.
