Well I did it - I am ONE year old.
Where did this past year go? I've grown so much and yet I have a lot
more growing to do.
I had a family birthday party on my actual
birthday. We had dinner and cake. I wasn't too sure about the
cake but I tried the frosting. It wasn't too bad but I preferred a big
tray of watermelon.
On Sunday I had a construction themed
birthday party with my friends - 21 one of them! Everybody got hard
hats and blow up hammers. We played and we ate pizza and cake.
Unlike at my first party, I devoured my birthday cupcake. I received a
lot of really nice gifts that Rachel helped me to open after we took our
naps. Partying can be tiring.

I went to my very first Cubs game today
against the Mariners and they Won! Hooray! I must be good luck.
Maybe I should go to all of the games - well except for those that happen
during nap time. I had a good time at the ball park. I ate lunch
and had some cotton candy (yum). I also met a girl who sat in the
seats in front of us. She was a few months younger. We also rode
the train to the game and I like holding onto the poles. It was a
great day.
I also went to the pool for the first
time. I liked walking through the water. We went to a pool party
for one of Rachel's friends. I like the water.

I am a good listener. Mommy tells me
no and I stop what I am doing. She asks me to come and I do. I
am starting to really communicate my needs. For example when I am
hungry or thirsty I make a yum yum sound and smack my lips together. I
also made the same sign that Rachel did for ceiling fan the other day as I
watched it going around and around. Today Mommy made the come here
motion and I mimicked her.
I love to laugh and I find humor in many
things. Rachel is really entertaining. I also find Wilson to be
fairly funny too.
When I am not laughing I love eating.
I have a bottomless pit stomach. Fortunately I like most foods that I
have been given. Today Rachel left her snack out where I could reach
it and when Mommy returned from changing her diaper I had a mouth full of
bee graham crackers. Wow were they good!

I learned how to put things in. I
put blocks in the bucket and balls into the Drop and Roar dinosaur. I
also like dumping everything back out once I have put whatever it is in.
I also really like dropping things from my high chair.
I am really fascinated with anything that
moves - the ceiling fan, people walking by, cars, etc. I basically
have a rubber neck at the moment as I constantly whip myself around to look
at all sorts of things.
I ate half of Rachel's Potbelly sandwich
today which is often more than she eats. Too bad I still haven't quite
figured out the straw as those Mocha shakes she and Mommy get look awfully
yummy!
I went to the zoo for the first time.
It was really hot (94 degrees) so I didn't spend a lot of time out of my
shady stroller. I enjoyed looking at the animals particularly the
seals from under the artic tunnel.

Happy Eleven Months to me! I can't
believe that I will be a year old in just a month. Mommy is working
hard on figuring out the plan for my party. She'd better hurry up and
make the final decisions so that it happens when it's supposed to!
If I miss a nap I don't sleep all day.
This doesn't happen too often but occasionally it's time for me to nap at
impossible times like when we have to pick up Rachel from school. I'll
fall asleep in the car on the ride over only to wake up 5 minutes later and
then the opportunity is wasted. No napping for me. Sometimes I
will transfer from the car (if sleeping when we get home) to my bed but not
always and then I will stand and cry, cry, cry for a LONG time. No
nap. Mommy generally looks pretty haggard by the end of the no nap
days.

Special Time with Mommy:
I cradle
her face with both of my hands and then pull her face close to
mine
while saying ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh over and over.
