July 27 - August 23, 2006

August 17 - August 23, 2006
(8 weeks old)

I went on my very first road trip and it was even out of the country!  We went to Toronto, Canada for my cousin Sharon's wedding to Mike.  It was an awfully long drive but honestly, I slept most of the way so it wasn't too bad.  Mommy and Daddy were good about keeping me fed and clean so sitting in my chair wasn't too terrible.  I got to be out late two nights in a row.  While I wasn't as active as Rachel I still had a great time being held by my relatives.

I smiled at Grandma when we saw her on Thursday night (we had a driving layover).  I'm still not smiling at Mommy and Daddy and Mommy is starting to get impatient!  So to placate her I occasionally spit up on her - my own way of showing recognition and love.  I also got to meet my cousin Lincoln.  He is such a big boy.  I can't wait until I can really play with him.

I will officially be two months old on Tuesday!  My wellness visit is in September.  Rachel has warned me about the shots and I am not looking forward to my first set of immunizations.

August 10 - August 16, 2006
(7 weeks old)

Well it looks like the Gymboree class was a bad idea.  Miss Rachel caught a runny nose/cold that lasted for two days and passed it on to me.  Mommy has had to use the blue bulb suctioner on me and actually I don't fight it too badly.  I also got a clogged tear duct from the cold but a little warm water and cotton ball cleared that right up.

I am going to soon be growing out of my 0 - 3 sized clothes.  Mommy and Daddy are amazed at how quickly I am growing when compared to how petite Rachel stayed for so long.  I assure them that it is a good thing that I am growing nice and strong being a boy and all.

Mommy assembled my swing today while I napped.  I am going to try it out tonight.  I hope it is fun.  More to come on my reaction.

"Sleeping again?"

August 3 - August 9, 2006
(6 weeks old)

My absolute favorite thing to do is sleep and I am an accomplished sleeper at that.  I can sleep through pretty much anything and everything - Wilson barking, a loud Gymboree music class, being held up in the air, etc.  One would think that I would be a perfect candidate to head up the "Sleepy Monkey Gang."  When I am not sleeping (or eating) I am most likely perfecting my cry and/or grunting.  Being 6 weeks old is awfully hard work.

I am starting to appear interested in things.  I like to look at the "Red Tree" painting and also at Wilson.  I haven't quite figured him out yet but he likes to lick me.

I am growing more each day.  Daddy has gone from calling me "Lump" to "Brick."  I really hope that these are terms of endearment.  A little bird told me that Rachel had nicknames such as Hungry Hippo and Cheeky Cheekers.  I am not sure which is worse.

First Professional Photo Shoot:  Monday, July 31.

July 27 - August 2, 2006
(5 weeks old)

I am officially tracking!  I turned my head and watched Mommy as she walked into the kitchen.  I will also follow certain objects such as the light up ducks with my eyes.

I have been spending some time on my Gymini.  Rachel likes to play with me while I am on it.  She particularly likes to squeaking the bird and playing music.  I have also been making music on my kick and play bouncy seat since I like to kick while I sit in it.

I found my thumb today.  This is probably a good thing since Mommy found Rachel sucking on my pacifier when she got out of the shower yesterday.
