Month 12 - July 2007

July 19- July 25, 2007
(1 Year 4 weeks)

I can't actually take credit for the beautiful masterpiece on the easel.  That was done by Rachel.  I on the other hand am a master at taking out her pencils, markers, and crayons prior to chewing on them, putting them on the floor, and replacing them.  It doesn't matter whether the lid is open, closed, or even turned around I am able to get to the writing utensils with ease.  I particularly enjoy going after them while Mommy is drying her hair in the morning or while she is sneaking an email break.  I have a bunch of really fun toys right next to the easel but alas I am only drawn to it and the magically colorful sticks contained within.

Mommy bought me some shoes today.  Real shoes.  Fun shoes.  The only thing is that my feet are still a bit too small to wear them yet.  The lady measured my foot as a size 3.  Yes, I have tiny feet but they are wide according to the shoe lady.  So the only fat I possess on my entire body can be found in my feet.

July 12- July 18, 2007
(1 Year 3 weeks)

I have a busy social scene these days.  I go to camp, playgroups (mine and rachel's), concerts, birthday parties, lunches, bbqs, etc.  And as long as there is something to play with and/or eat I am as happy as a clam.  At camp I get to play and eat which makes it a really great place in my mind.  At camp, as you can see, I get to sit in the big boy/girl chairs during snack.  I need help getting into and out of my chair but I do just fine once I am sitting and have my snack in front of me.

A bunch of my friends are walking now.  Caroline (in the pink hat) has been walking for about 4 months now but our friends are starting to catch up.  I will walk holding hands, along furniture, and while pushing toys like my big dump truck or the riding train from Daniel's house.   I've gotten quite good walking with the toys and I can maneuver around the center island and furniture.  I am pretty quick too.  I am just not ready to go it alone - not yet.

"Do you mind?  It is snack time."

July 5- July 11, 2007
(1 Year 2 weeks)

I went to a Flyers baseball game this week with the family, Sam, and his family.  We had great seats are you can see.  I had a great time people watching and I kept trying to get the lady's fancy drink (with a straw) that sat behind Mommy.  I am fascinated by straws as I have learned how to use one.  I will crane my neck and reach for any straw that is in my general vicinity.

I detest milk which is frustrating to Mommy.  I've tried skim, 2%, and whole milk and basically I find them all to be awful vile and all around disgusting.  Mommy has tried to be sneaky but realizes that my super powers include having extremely attune milk receptors.  You see I like the Stoneyfield fruit yogurt smoothies and so Mommy thought she'd be sneaking and add some milk to one the other day.  After one sip I knew what she had done so I pushed it away.  I drank chocolate milk one day but then she tried adding a bit of whole milk to it.  Not a chance.  On the upside I do LOVE mocha shakes and to my chagrin they contain milk which I am at this point willing to overlook.

June 28 - July 4, 2007
(1 Year 1 week)

I celebrated the of July two nights in a row with fireworks both nights.  I was completely mesmerized by the flashes of light.  I wasn't scared of the noise at all and I even clapped a few times during the amazing show.

I got to sit in an excavator this week.  We are having our garage rebuilt and they had to tear the old one down first.  They dug a big hole with the excavator and I had a great time watching.  I really enjoy watching construction vehicles well any vehicle actually.  Mommy says that I am like Cody our neighbor's dog when it comes to vehicles.  You see Cody turns and leaps at cars and trucks that drive past him while he is out for a walk and I in turn tend to whip my body around and lean toward cars that move past me too.

My first day of camp started today.  A few of my playgroup friends are in my class.  I got to play in the ball pit and push trucks the first day.  It was so much fun!

"Can we build it?  Yes we can!"
