October 18 - October 24, 2007
(1 Year 17 weeks old)
I am getting quite good at using a spoon
and Mommy lets me feed oatmeal and yogurt to myself. I do a better job
of getting oatmeal to my mouth than yogurt. It's a food consistency
issue - the yogurt is just too drippy.
I went to Door County. It was a
whirl wind day trip but I enjoyed it none the less. The water was
exceptionally low on the bay side and I got to walk on the rocks with Daddy.
I needed a little help with my balance as the rocks and wind were trying to
knock me down.
I spend the entire morning with Pa when
Mommy took Rachel to the American Girl store. We have SO much fun.
I like to talk to Pa and we laugh a lot. I want him to pick me up
almost as much as I want Mommy to.

"Steady"
October 11 - October 17, 2007
(1 Year 16 weeks old)
I have been practicing my walking with
Mommy and Rachel. They have been standing between the love seats and
they send me back and forth across the area rug. When I reach the side
they spin me around and send me back. Rachel's pretty good at spinning
me and I don't fall. I think I did six trips during one session.
I love to play. All I want to do it
play. Whether I am building with blocks or pushing cars around the
floor I can occupy myself for long periods of time, totally engrossed in
play. I am not too much of a TV fan. I like to watch little bits
and pieces of it but it doesn't sustain my attention for any length of time.
I guess that's good.

"I love playing"
October 4 - October 10, 2007
(1 Year 15 weeks old)
I took my first steps on Saturday, October
6 in my bedroom. I walked from Daddy to Mommy repeatedly. I also
walked to Rachel and she was thrilled. She says that I am now a
"walk-y walker!"
I also got a tooth up top on the left.
More are coming in and I am in a lot of pain. I grab at my gums and
cry. Teeth are not fun at all.
I like to play with Ben my neighbor.
We actually play nicely together. We share toys and I try to talk to
him. You can see the side of his head in the picture.

Teletubbies - especially the baby sun.
September 27 - October 3, 2007
(1 Year 14 weeks old)
I went to the doctor on Thursday because
Mommy saw some bumps on my throat. The doctor says that I have a virus
but we also learned that my temperature was low - 96.3. Mommy was told
to keep an eye on it. At midnight she woke me up and took it again and
it was 94.7! Needless to say I wound up at the ER with a diagnosis of
hypothermia of all things. All my labs came back normal and I warmed
up with hot blankets. Since I was acting normal I got to go home at
3:30 a.m. The doctors think that it must be related to the virus.
Grandpa Jim passed away on September 28 so we
went back to Michigan. I was a very good boy all weekend and I got to
meet a lot of new people.
On October 3, I had my 15 month appointment.
My temperature was back in the 98 degree range which was good so I got my 15
month vaccine and my flu shot (ouchy). I weigh 19 lbs. 3 oz. (less
than 3rd percentile) and I am 30 1/2 inches long (25%). I grew 2 whole
inches since my 12 month appointment!
