Month 20 - March 2008

March 13 - March 19, 2008
(1  Year 38 weeks old)

I had my second official haircut - sorry Daddy but yours did not qualify as official - on Saturday.  I walked in just fine and I found a truck to hold.  I even sat in the jeep with the flames on it.  Everything was great until Sandra tried to put the cape on me and then all h-e-double toothpicks broke out.  Mommy had to hold me on her lap and I screamed hysterically the whole time.  The bubble lady didn't calm me.  The Thomas the Train video didn't calm me.  Nothing was going to stop me until she stopped cutting my hair.  In the end I got a balloon and was pretty happy.  Mommy and I were covered in hair but somehow we managed to survive.

"A perfect night - Daddy pillow, book, thumb, a new haircut, and Bob"

March 6 - March 12, 2008
(1  Year 37 weeks old)

Daddy's back - Hooray!   He brought back some fun gifts from France.  I got a really cool outfit from Serban and Lia and some children's stories in French from Daniel and Marie Jeanne.  A big Thanks!!!  It sounds like I might finally be able to meet the family in France next year, if we go to a wedding in Paris.  Wow, that would be my first international trip!

Now that Daddy's back he gets to take care of all of us sick people.  Not a great welcome home I suppose.  I'm still sick from the children's museum - I just can't shake the cough or fever.  I was tested and I don't have the flu thankfully.  Between Rachel and I we've been to the pediatrician 3 times in the last eight days - a record for sure.  Remind me to kick Mommy in the shins really hard the next time she boasts that "Rachel and Ian haven't been sick all year!"  Way to put a quick end to that Mommy!

"Round and Round"

February 28 - March 5, 2008
(1  Year 36 weeks old)

Ma came to visit the day after Daddy left for Paris.  I've warmed up to her considerably since our last encounter and didn't even notice that Mommy was around at times.  I went with Mommy to pick her sup from the train station and was pretty excited to see the trains.  During her visit we did many fun things,  like go to the Children's Museum (yes, we all got sick two days later) and we played a lot with toys.  We were all sad to see her go home but we'll see her again soon.

I said "Mama" (a real Mama for Mommy) for the first time on Wednesday, March 5.  She has been over the moon.  Who knew such a little word would have so much impact.  What a great ending to a fun week!

"Hanging out with Ma"

February 21 - February 27, 2008
(1  Year 35 weeks old)

I turned 20 months on Mommy's birthday!  I like that we share the same day of the month.  It makes our birthdays easy to remember.  Speaking of birthdays I had another party this weekend for my friend Sydnee from playgroup - she turned 2.  There were scooters at her party like at gymnastics and I didn't want to leave.  The rest of the week wasn't too much fun.  Mommy got food poisoning and we had to stay home.  This meant no play dates and no classes.  Let's just say that one of my new favorite words is "Bob."  If you guessed to yourself "as in Bob the Builder?" you'd be correct.  I got to watch plenty of Bob and he is my new favorite guy - well next to Lightening McQueen anyway.
