18 Months - March 2006
March 28 - April 3, 2006
(1 year, 30 weeks)
Sammy and I went to lunch last week and afterwards we got
to hold hands. Well, I held his two fingers anyway. He is SOOOOO
cute! :-) We're going to go to university together - well in
about 17 years or so. Right now an occasional play date must suffice.
I am starting to string more words together to form 2 to 3
word sentences. I also answered the phone for the first time tonight
and promptly disconnected Mommy and Sammy's mom.
I forgot to mention that I walked on the balance beam for
the first time at gymnastics last week. Mommy held my hands but I was
able to place one foot in front of the other and walk the whole length.
I was also brave enough to jump on the trampoline with one of the
instructors instead of Mommy. Which Mommy and the baby were thankful
for.
Daddy got Mommy a new digital video camera and she has
been shooting footage of me for the past few days. When she figures
out how to get it onto the computer there will be some new video clips - and
these will have sound!

"I wanna hold your hand..."
18 Month Appointment: Scheduled for
later this week.
Tune in next week for weight and height
updates!

I am speaking my first three word sentence - "No bagel
doggie!" Or "No doggie bagel!" Either way you can
understand the point that I am trying to make. See, sometimes I like
to walk around the house eating a bagel and Wilson likes to help himself to
it. I am obviously tired of this and have put my foot down.
Sometimes though I just like saying the combination - like at the store
where there was no doggie and no bagel.
I like to play dress up and I really like Mommy's
handbags. She recently bought me my own purse however what she didn't
realize at the time was that I really prefer her Coach bags. Silly
Mommy I am a girl with style and taste. I also like playing in the
laundry basket but that is another story (photos).
I had shepherd's pie for St.
Patrick's day. It was very tasty and basically the only way that I
will eat mashed potatoes. Mommy was a little concerned about my
aversion to potatoes - being a good Irish Mommy and all. I hope
this alleviated some of her fears.
Happy Spring - we reached a high of around 37 degrees -
woohoo a heat wave!

We had nearly a 70 degree day this weekend. Mommy,
Daddy, and Wilson took me to the playground. I got to climb on the
jungle gym, slide down the slide, play on the bouncy thing, and swing on the
swings. It was so great! I really didn't want to leave and even
cried when it was time to go.
I have 3 chores that I love to do - feed Wilson twice a
day, help Mommy empty the dishwasher, and my latest...swiftering the wood
floors. I enjoy these almost as much as brushing my teeth - seriously.
Now many years from now I may think I was a little crazy but for the time
being I really enjoy being helpful. Plus I think Mommy likes the free
labor.
I have an obsession with the Teletubbies. My
favorites are La La and the Noo Noo. One of my favorite episodes is
the one with Emily and Jester her horse. But the best part is the
animal parade with the tigers, penguins, and the slow turtles. It has
been on OnDemand and even though I've seen it a thousand times it never gets
old.

"Hurry up spring!!!"

Well everyone is finally back to normal aside from an
occasional sniffle or two. I even got to go to gymnastics today.
I really missed my class especially the trampoline. I like to bounce
with Mommy but I haven't quite mastered getting my feet off the ground.
I think that skill will come when I am nearing two.
Our car has a DVD player and sometimes when Mommy and I go
places she lets me watch an Elmo DVD. The other day after breakfast I
decided it was time to go to the car to watch Elmo. I brought my coat
to Mommy and walked to the front window and said Elmo. Needless to say
we didn't go. One of my other favorite car activities is pointing out
all the trucks and buses that I see. It's funny how I usually see them
way before Mommy and she is the one in the front seat and driving.

"We're reading here...do you mind?"
--> Favorite Song: Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.
Favorite Monster: Elmo.
Favorite Foods: Yogurt and Fruit.
Favorite Book: The Big Truck Book (I can point out almost every
vehicle!)
February 28 - March 6, 2006

This week's update is a little late since Mommy and I have
been a little under the weather. Mommy had a stomach virus and I got
to spend a lot of time with Daddy while she got better. He took this
picture of me reading in my chair. I love books and I love my chair.
I recently learned how to walk backwards and I have been
practicing every chance I get. I also like to pretend that I can fly
and I run around the house with my arms stretched behind me. Sometimes
Mommy and Daddy will fly around the house with me too - they can be so
funny.
I mentioned earlier that I was a little under the weather.
Well on Monday I got my first illness in about 7 or 8 months and it was a
doosie. I have croup. It sounds much worse than it actually is.
Daddy took me to the doctor and after I got my shot I really haven't had a
cough or any symptoms. Occasionally I cough or sneeze but otherwise I
feel like normal. I attribute my fabulous immune system to all the
Moo-mie milk I had when I was younger. ;-)
