21 Months - June 2006

June 27 - July 3, 2006
(1 year, 43 weeks)

I am officially a Big Sister!  So far I don't mind having a new baby brother.  He is really small and has soft hair.  I like to point to his body parts and name them.  I think his eyes are blue like Mommy's.  I like to cuddle with Mommy and Ian while he is eating.  He seems to eat all the time at least that is when he is not sleeping ("Shh...baby sleeping").  Since I like to "cuddle Mommy" that isn't a bad thing.

Daddy bought me a sand box that has a picnic table and umbrella attached.  Today we went out and got sand too.  I am sure that Mommy and/or Daddy will be snapping sand box photos real soon.  I also got a new baby stroller today so that I can push my (doll) babies while Mommy pushes baby Ian.  I like to push the big stroller but the problem is that I can't really see where I am going.

My New Brother:  Baby Ian

June 20 - June 26, 2006
(1 year, 42 weeks)

Last week I got to go to Pa's house while Mommy had a baby appointment.  I like going to Pa's house he has beads for me to wear, a sheep skin rug, and best of all a piano.  I really like the piano.  Pa captured this photo of me in action.

Some other artistic things I have been doing lately is painting.  Mommy made paint for me last week out of flour, water, and food coloring.  I really enjoyed it a lot.  I have a special painting shirt to wear while I paint and I really like dipping my brush in the water.  On Saturday, Mommy bought me some real water colors.  Check out my new Art Gallery section to see some of my recent works.

Mommy recently commented to Daddy how observant I have become.  The other day I pushed Mommy's hair away to expose her ears and said "Mommy, where pretties?"  Pretties are what I call her earrings.  I noticed that she wasn't wearing them on the same morning that she took them out.

Mommy and Daddy have decided that they need to be more careful about what they say around me.  On Saturday, Daddy had spent a lot of time outside and on Sunday morning Mommy commented on how his neck was a little red.  Most of you can probably see where this is going... So I blurted out Daddy's a redneck.  Happy Father's Day to Daddy.  Ha Ha.

June 13 - June 19, 2006
(1 year, 41 weeks)

Daddy planted a huge vegetable garden for Mommy and Me.  We're going to have cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, and cantaloupe.  YUM!  I helped Daddy plant some of the plants and then I got to water them too.  Mommy bought me my own watering can this weekend and now I can water like a pro.  Well sort of, I tend to water the same plant five or six times before I move on.  I guess some will just grow better than others.

I decided that the baby was dirty recently and have been practicing washing him.  At first I was sticking my four fingers in my mouth and then rubbing them on Mommy's tummy while saying "clean baby."  Mommy has talked me into just wiping her belly with a wash cloth or Kleenex instead.  I think my way was more effective but you just can't argue with Mommy on some things.

"New hair"

June 6 - June 12, 2006
(1 year, 40 weeks)

I got my first real haircut on Sunday at Snippets.  I got to sit in the fire truck and watch Thomas the Train.  I cooperated fairly well but did get a bit upset when some little girl sat on the horse (clearly my horse) next to me.  Mommy got a hair sample to save the day and she took some video too.  Maybe someday she and Daddy will figure out how to put the video on the computer.

Today Mommy got off bed rest.  She will be able to do more things with me now.  Well a few more things anyway.  I don't thing she is up to serious walks to the park or anything.  We by having Potbellys and Mocha Shakes with Grandpa.

May 30 - June 5, 2006
(1 year, 39 weeks)

The pool opened Memorial Day Weekend.  I can't get enough of it.  It is the first thing I want to do in the morning and it is what I ask to do all day long.  The bike has taken a fall in the ranks and going for a walk doesn't get me that excited anymore.  I am all about the pool, pool, pool!  Fortunately, the weather was exceptionally hot this weekend and there was a lot of pool to be had.

I am officially a blueberry junkie.  I can't get enough of these tiny morsels of goodness, with antioxidants to boot.  I polished off 3 containers (with Mommy's help.  She thinks I don't see her scarfing them down.) in only a few days.  Pretty soon I'll probably have to share them with my baby brother and I am not sure how that makes me feel.  I wonder if Wilson had this same struggle when I started getting a good portion of the cheese that he and Mommy shared before I came along?

I can count to 13 and coincidentally so can my friend Katie.  She is only a week older than I am.  I also know a good chunk of the alphabet.  I was saying the letters that I saw while watching Sesame Street with Daddy.  I think he was impressed.

I have recently become fascinated with eye color.  I told Mommy that her eyes are blue.  "Mommy eyes blue" is exactly what I told her.  I also know that Wilson's and Pa's eyes are brown.  I am having trouble remember hazel but I can say it.  Lately I say a lot of things.   Basically, I am becoming a little parrot.  Good thing that Mommy hasn't been able to drive lately - she can get quiet the mouth while on the road (naughty Mommy!).

"The pool is now open!"
