Next Week

24 Months - September 2006

September 26 - October 2, 2006
(2 year, 4 weeks)

I think I am pretty smart.  This morning I wanted Jungle Pancakes (big surprise) for breakfast.  About 2/3 of the way through I decided that I wanted down.  A little while later I wanted to finish my pancakes AND watch Blue's Clues.  Since the tv is not in the dining room I was told that I had to eat my pancakes first - "when they were all gone then 'blue puppy'."  Here is the smart part...I had about 5 bites left when Mommy walked back into the kitchen.  I called for Mommy and said all gone and showed her my empty plate.  Sitting next to me were the 5 bites of pancake on my napkin but obviously my plate was empty and I continued to insist that the pancakes were "all gone - now blue puppy."  Mommy acknowledged that under no uncertain terms were we setting a precedence before she let me down to watch blue puppy and gave me points for being creative.

September 19 - September 25, 2006
(2 year, 3 weeks)

I love school.  I also like that I get to eat jungle pancakes before school (and every other morning as of late).  I am starting to understand the routine of school - play, art, play, eat, play.  Basically, we have a good time and play.  The only part that I don't like is that some of the kids in my class like to try and take things from me (and others).  I think sharing is hard for us two year olds.

So I had a little conversation with Mommy this week and it went something like this.  Mommy:  "Rachel has a cute butt."  Rachel:  "Mommy has a big butt."  After a few seconds I added "Daddy has a big butt too."  At this point however, I think the damage had already been done.

We celebrated Pa's 71st birthday on Sunday.  We went to his house for a party and had lox and bagels with cheese.  We also had two kinds of cake - birthday cake and Grandma Gigi cake - YUM!

I have been doing a lot of role playing - cooking, cleaning, potty, and my latest is making Mommy's milk.  Mommy captured some pics of me in action.

Favorite Toys: Little People Preschool and Animal Zoo.
Favorite Food:  Tacos (meat, cheese, onion, tomato, avocado, sour cream, and lettuce).  I eat almost two!

September 12 - September 18, 2006
(2 year, 2 weeks)

I started preschool today.  Basically my morning went like this.  First, I ate some jungle pancakes (an elephant and a zebra), next I got dressed (pa helped put on my shoes), and then waited patiently on the stairs to go to my new preschool class.  Mommy drove us to school and when we walked inside Mrs. K was waiting for us, she is my teacher.  The first day was easy.  I played with a bunch of the toys (the kitchen was my favorite) and we had circle time.  We also had a snack.  There is a bunny in my class and his name is Gemini.  It all went by so quickly and the next thing I knew - it was time to go home.  I had fun and I look forward to going back!

I went to another birthday party this weekend for my friend Madison.  She turned two and her party was at Gymboree.  I haven't been to Gymboree to play in eons.  I had a lot of fun and climbed on everything.  I even got to have two pieces of cake!  Lucky me!

I am getting a new room this week.  It is lighthouse yellow in color and it is much larger than my old room.  It even has a huge closet compared to my current one - very important for a young lady.  Baby Ian is getting my old room because he is too little for the big room.  My birthday kitchen is going to go into my new room too.  I can't wait.

Least Favorite Activity:
Napping - although I tend to sleep for 3 hours about 2 minutes after I am in my crib.

September 5 - September 11, 2006
(2 year, 1 weeks)

Well I am officially 2 years old and I'll tell anyone who asks.  This past week I celebrated my actual birthday first with Grandma Gigi for lunch at the Botanic Gardens and then that night with Mommy, Daddy, baby Ian, Wilson, and Blue Puppy.  I got a tea set from baby Ian and I spent all evening making everyone tea.  I had a Chipotle Vegetarian Burrito for dinner - yep black beans and all (my choice) and special birthday grapes as I wasn't in the mood for cake.

I went to a Ralph's World concert on Saturday with Aidan, Sammy, Rebecca, baby Dylan, and baby Ian.  It was great.  We all danced and ate fruit and pretzels.  Afterwards I had my two year wellness visit.  And now for the stats:

Height: 34 inches
Weight:  24 1/4 lbs

Luckily for me there were no shots!  Woo Hoo.  Baby Ian wasn't as lucky, he got four shots but he'll tell you all about that on his page.

I am starting to break out of my shell and I am become less shy around large groups of people.  This is a good thing especially since I have a very busy social calendar.  It seems like there are birthdays to attend every weekend for the next month or two.    On Sunday, I was a guest at two birthday parties.  Nina, a girl in my upcoming preschool class turned 2 and had a train party and Aidan, turned 3 and had a fun bash at his house.
