Next Week

27 Months - December 2006

December 26, 2006 - January 1, 2007
(2 year, 17 weeks)

I had a lot of fun at Ma and Grandpa Jim's for Christmas.  I did get a little tired of opening presents though.  It's hard work being a kid.  It was really nice seeing my cousin Lincoln.  He is so cute.  I liked his toys too.

I have started saying Not instead of No and it's driving Mommy crazy.  I think it's really funny.

I am also on a Wonder Pets kick.  The Wonder Pets save the (insert pretty much any animal that you can think of).  Mommy is trying to use the whole team work philosophy to get me to pick up my toys.  To her credit it does work when she starts singing "what's gonna work?  Teamwork."  I also like pretending that the laundry basket is the fly boat.  Confused about the Wonder Pets?  Check out Nick Jr.

I am missing Chanukah and Christmas already.  No more candles or lights.  :-(

December 19 - December 25, 2006
(2 year, 16 weeks)

Not sassy as in mouthing off but sassy as in check out my new sassy hair!  On Friday, Mommy took me to the kid haircut place and I got my haircut while sitting in the fire truck.  I also got a really cute felt flower bow that I want to wear everyday.

The biggest highlight of this week however is that I went to the Shedd Aquarium and saw the baby beluga whale named Bella.  I also got to see Mommy and Daddy belugas, dolphins, penguins, sea horses, sharks, and lots of fish.  I had a great time.  Check out the video below.  A new photo documentary to follow soon.

Baby Ian and I have colds together.  We have coughs, runny noses, and tonight even fevers.  There is clearly nothing like brotherly and sisterly love.

Hanukkah has been fun.  I love when Daddy lights the candles every night.  I have even been repeating the prayer said when the candles are lit.  It is one of my evening highlights aside from making sure the Christmas tree lights are plugged in the minute it gets dark.

Grandma Gigi got me a Bitty Baby from the American Girl store.  I named her Baby Colleen.  Did you know that this is also Mommy's name?!  Sometimes I like calling Mommy Colleen but the other day I called her Miss Mommy after she called me Miss Rachel.  It was SO funny.

Favorite Activity:  "Body Slam" which involves a body slam onto pillows.
Hmm...wonder where I would have learned that one?  Daddy perhaps?

December 12 - December 18, 2006
(2 year, 15 weeks)

I got to see Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Lauren this weekend.  We had a big family brunch on Sunday and I got to play the piano with Pa.  I also got my first Hanukkah gift - a doctor kit.  I LOVE my stethoscope and wear it everyday.

I have been told that I am such a polite little lady.  I have been saying excuse me when I make gas - belching or otherwise and I eat like a grown up with my utensils.  I even had my napkin on my lap at lunch today.  I mean a girl has to be up on her etiquette even while enjoying her happy meal.

I jumped where both feet left the ground at the same time on Saturday!

Opening my Gift

December 5 - December 11, 2006
(2 year, 14 weeks)

I am so excited!  I got a Christmas tree on Sunday with Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Ian.  It was really really cold outside but I didn't care.  I love my Christmas tree.  It is the first thing I want to see in the morning.  I have a special Elmo and Zoe ornament and a Snoopy ornament.  First Mommy put blue and white lights on the tree and then she video taped Daddy and I as we decorated the tree.  We even sang while we put ornaments on the tree.  You're probably thinking "Oh gee, I wonder what Christmas carols a girl of such few years would happen to know?"  Well it might surprise you to learn that B-I-N-G-O is the official Pogany Christmas carol.

Ooh!!!!  But the REAL exciting news is that I am going to go see Laurie in concert and I can't wait.  Mommy got tickets for us to go and it is all I can talk about.  I even told Baby Ian's doctor when we went to his appointment last week.
