Month 6
December 21, 2006 - January 24, 2007

January 18 - January 24, 2007
(30 weeks old)

This week ends my time as a 6 month old but there is much to look forward to as a seven month old I am told.

I got to go outside with Mommy, Daddy, Rachel and Wilson the other day and we played in the snow.  Daddy helped me to make snow angels and snowballs.  My nose was pink when I came inside but I was toasty warm in my snowsuit.

I am moving all over the floor... I am on my Gymini and then I am not.  I am on the blanket and then I am not.  I am next to the bed and then I am under the bed (don't fret it is a REALLY tall bed).  I am not crawling but moving and starting to roll.

We're pretty sure that I am getting a tooth.  I have been gnawing on everything (ok that is normal), and drooling (yep that's normal too) but Mommy and Daddy felt something on my gums tonight and Mommy said that it looks like my bottom gum has a little slit.  I guess we'll know for sure in a couple of days.

"Our 'snow' Angel"

New Foods:  Apples and Apricots (YUM).
Rachel wanted a taste and she agrees that they are good.

Hear me laugh (Daddy is a funny guy and got me roaring before bed tonight)

January 11 - January 17, 2007
(29 weeks old)

I have learned how to snow plow or at least that is what Mommy calls it.  Basically I push with my feet, propelling myself head-first while lying on my back.  I am also rolling onto my stomach while I am sleeping.  Some days I wake up crying because I forget that I can turn back over.

I have become an eating machine and I am now up to 3 meals per day.  What goes in must come out and so I needed a little prune action to help move things along.  According to Caroline's Mommy the yellow and orange foods can be binding.  Too bad I've recently given up on the peas.  Looks like we will be giving green beans a try in a few days.

"Drooling and Hanging Out"

New Foods:  Pears with Raspberries and Apples with Blueberries (YUM x2)

Food Dislikes:  Peas (No thank you!)

January 4 - January 10, 2007
(28 weeks old)

I went to Gymboree today and I loved it.  The class was held during a time when I usually nap but I was nothing but smiles the entire time.  Jodi was my teacher and she used to be Rachel's too.  I especially liked looking at the other babies and I was fascinated by Gymbo.  I was very impressed that Mommy knew most of the songs.  At home she introduced me to the Noble Duke of York.  I LOVE it!  I smile and laugh whenever she does it with me.  Rachel tries to get in on the fun and Mommy lets her take a turn too.

I am gaining proficiency in rolling over from back to front.  I have been a pro at from front to back for a while now.

Photo-less week...Bad Mommy!

New Foods:  Apples (YUM)

December 28, 2006 - January 3, 2007
(27 weeks old)

I am happy to report that I am fairly healthy (I still have a touch of an ear infection) as of my wellness visit.  I am in the 25 - 50% for height at 26 inches long and 25 - 50% for head circumference.  I did unfortunately drop a bit in weight from 25% to 10% as I have only gained 14 oz. bringing me to a whopping 14 lbs. 14 oz.  Since I am now eating food my doctor wants me to come back in a month to have a weigh-in to see where I am at.  I do weigh 2 whole lbs. more than Rachel did at this age and she turned out just fine.

I am trying really hard to blow raspberries but I am not quite there yet.  I am successful in launching quite a bit of saliva with each attempt.  I also find it hilarious when Mommy, Daddy, or Rachel blow raspberries at me.

"Happy New Year!"

New Foods:  Pears (YUM)

December 21- December 27, 2006
(26 weeks old)

I am officially 6 months old - Happy 1/2 year Birthday to me!  I had an exciting week this week.  On Friday I went to the doctors and learned that I have an ear infection and the beginnings of croup.  One steroid shot and antibiotic later I find myself feeling much better.

On Sunday, we went to visit Ma and Grandpa Jim for Christmas.  It was a lot of fun.  There were enough people around that I got to be held and be the center of someone's attention most of the time.  I even slept ok considering I wasn't in my own bed.  I enjoyed getting new toys almost as much as I enjoyed eating the paper.  I also got to meet my Great Grandpa Jack while we were away.  He was so happy to see Rachel and I.

Tomorrow is my 6 month doctor appointment.  Stay tuned for the juicy details.

"Needs salt"

Foods consumed: Rice cereal, Oatmeal, Peas, and Sweet Potatoes.
All are yummy as long as they are not too cold.

New Photos: Ok not so new time-wise but I am finally adding the photos
