March 22 - April 18, 2007

April 12 - April 18, 2007
(42 weeks old)

I have started to pull myself up in a kneeling position.  It is my sit position of choice.  I haven't figured out how to sit on my bottom yet so my knees do just fine.  I have also started pulling myself up on things like my crib and the window ledge.  If I am in a standing position I can creep sideways just a bit but you have to watch me close as I have no trouble falling.

I am fascinated by doors and wheels.  I can open and close doors and wheels I can push.  I am able to keep myself entertained for quite a while with things around the house.

I had part of a turkey meatball the other day and I loved it.  Mommy has been giving me all sorts of chewable foods.  I've had regular turkey meat, gold fish crackers, bread, and pasta.  I am not hoarding food in my cheeks anymore.  I simply inhale whatever gets close to my mouth.

I got my left top tooth!

April 5 - April 11, 2007
(41 weeks old)

This is a little late getting posted but it's been a REALLY busy week!  I started crawling on April 1.  I was in Rachel's room and she was listening to my heart with her stethoscope while daddy secretly video taped from the door way when I decided to crawl. He actually captured my first forward movements on video!  A whole 11 days later I am crawling like a pro all over the place.

Well I know everyone has been on pins and needles waiting to hear how the wellness visit went...  I weight a scant 16 lbs. 6 oz. which puts me at the 3% for weight.  I am 27 1/4 inches tall.  I have been put on the high fat diet which means Mommy gets to add butter to my meals and mix formula in my oatmeal.  All I can say is I don't like formula in my oatmeal!  The stuff smells nasty and doesn't taste too good either.  Everyone who sees me regularly can't believe that I am on the smaller side weight wise especially when they see how muscular and manly I am - for a 9 month old anyway.

March 29 - April 4, 2007
(40 weeks old)

Can you say "Da Da?"  Well I surely can!  I started saying it on Tuesday and I like to say it a lot.  Da da, da da, da da.  Mommy says "Ian say Mommy" and I said "Da da" and sometimes I respond by blowing a raspberry.  Not really the response that she's looking for but I like being Mommy's little man of mystery.

I got another tooth.  A bottom one on the right side.  It looks like a top one may be appearing here shortly.  Fortunately, I don't seem to have any real discomfort or accompanying symptoms (i.e. runny nose or excessive drool).

I am starting to become a little more patient with books and I will now sit through a reading of one and possibly two books where as up until recently all I really wanted to do what chew the books.

My crawling update is as follows - I am getting up on my hands and knees and I am starting to move knees back and forth but my hands are planted after a few times I drop to my belly.  It's really just a matter of time.

March 22 - March 28, 2007
(39 weeks old)

I am officially 9 months old today!  Happy 9 month Birthday to me!  So what's new with me?  Well a few things.  I love to swing in the swings at the park.  I get to swing right next to Rachel and Mommy pushes both of us.  I giggle when she pushes me.

I can't get enough of this standing thing.  I can stand for at least 20 minutes and possibly longer.  I am very strong.  I was standing up and playing with Rachel's Fisher Price house and started shaking the house back and forth like an earthquake - Mommy thought it was very "boy" of me.  I think she just means that Rachel never interacted with her toy like that before.

So I am really really ready to give up my infant car seat.  Mommy needs a patch or something to help her just let it go.  I understand it is convenient to cart me around but I am starting to get squished.  It's clearly not a safety issue - Mommy's all about safety - I am just ready for my big boy seat!
