Next Week
Weeks 5 - 8
38 Weeks and Holding...
Well the Parmigiana did not
work but it was extremely tasty. However, it appears that walking did
work as my water broke at 3:30 am on Thursday morning and Ian made his debut
at 8:42 a.m. A mere 5 hours later. Mom, Dad, Big Sister Rachel,
and Baby are healthy, happy, and adjusting. :-)
37 Weeks and Holding...
So I spent the last day of my
36th week having ten hours of contractions - yes that is not a typo - 10
hours! After a 3 hour tour at the hospital where they confirmed my 5
minute contractions with no further progression I was able to come home.
All I can say is come Saturday, I will be consuming a very large portion of
Eggplant Parmigiana for dinner. Just a reminder for those of you who
may have forgotten, this divine dish caused Rachel to come some 30 hours
after consumption. Keep your fingers crossed folks we may be having
another Pogany here shortly.
36 Weeks and Holding...
Well we've made it to 36 weeks
and are now officially off bed rest - hooray! Baby Boy Pogany can come
any time now and the doctors will be happy. The only thing we need to
do is finish the nursery, which Daddy has started the demo on and come up
with a middle name. We settled on the first name months ago and the
only other person who knows what it will be is Rachel. Good luck
getting her to tell you what it is.
Third Trimester
Well we're in the home stretch
now. It's getting more difficult to pick things up from the floor or
to remove myself from furniture. I have managed (knock wood) to stay
off bed rest. Let's hope that luck continues. Ok, strike that
last bit. We had a touch of pre-term labor at the onset of week 30
which landed me in the hospital for 3 days only to be released to at home
bed rest. The upside is that I got an extra 3 weeks of freedom over
Rachel's pregnancy. The downside is that unlike last time I am already
dilating.
Second Trimester
We learned that we are having
a boy! So the Pogany playing field will once again be equal - although
Wilson tends to tip the scale back towards the ladies. My
morning sickness has finally subsided (THANKFULLY). We had quite a rough patch
there for a while. I started feeling the baby kick around week 15
which is much earlier than I remember with Rachel. Maybe it's because
I know what to expect this time. It's so exciting and makes everything
seem so much more real. Almost one month from the time I felt the baby
kick Kevin got to finally feel it too. Lately my belly seems to
resemble a bag of Pop Secret popcorn. Needless to say Baby Boy Pogany
is VERY active. Over 260 shots completed at this point.
First Trimester
We were thrilled to discovered
that we were expecting again on October 29. We told Rachel that she
was going to be a big sister and that Mommy has a baby in her belly.
One of her seemingly favorite and frequent activities is to say "baby baby," lift my shirt and give my belly a kiss/hug. We're really not sure how
much she understands but from her actions it may be more than we know.
Around week 10 some serious morning sickness kicked it - on a good day I
threw up only twice. It's much harder and easier in some respects
being pregnant again. Harder because I have a toddler to look after
all day but also easier for the same reason and not constantly thinking
about the pregnancy. Although the fatigue, vomiting, and protruding
belly are pretty good reminders at this point.
We can't wait for your arrival little one!
