Month 27 - October 2008

October 16 - October 22, 2008
(2 years 16 weeks old)

Most weeks I don't have to hang out while Rachel takes ballet but this week I did.  It would be unbearable if it wasn't for Ben (he is arm by my head) being stuck there too.  Actually, we usually have a lot of fun playing with toys and cars when we have to wait but today there weren't any cars and for some reason the fun toys were put away.  We did turn the kid chairs on their side and pretended we were racing but that only lasted so long.  And the mommies put an end to us trying to climb on things.

Two days later I got a bit of what Rachel calls the "coughy cough."  It was actually more of a fever and a runny nose - your basic cold.  Welcome cold weather sniffles.

It was another fun trip to Door County.  We went to a Pumpkin Festival but there weren't any pumpkins.  I did get to ride on a choo choo with Rachel and we went on a boat ride too.  I got a face painting of a bat on my hand.  It was very spooky.

October 2 - October 8, 2008
(2 years 14 weeks old)

One of my favorite things to say is "Ian do it."  I am striving for independence and I want to do it all.  Well except when I say "Mommy do it."  But the Ians are starting to be greater than the Mommys these days.  I am also becoming more independent on the playground as well.  I am pretty fearless when it comes to big slides, tube slides, and climbing up on the tall equipment.

I am taking gymnastics on Saturdays.  Daddy takes me as it is our special time together.  Last spring I didn't really care for gymnastics that much.  I went with Mommy and didn't explore the equipment but I was also only 1 1/2 at the time.  Now that I am two it's a totally different experience.  I love to play on all of the equipment and I even do the warm up exercises.  I come home with stamps on my hands, feet, and sometimes my belly.  What fun!

One of my favorite songs is "Walkin' Old Joe" well today I got to ride on a REAL Old Joe.  It was pretty cool.  I was fairly serious while I rode - you can't get silly on a horse.
